Good morning Centennial families and partners,
In order to increase school safety, we are asking that all students, staff, families, and community members no longer park on the road that wraps around the building at any time. This is a fire lane that we want to keep clear at all times.
Beginning Monday, December 9, we will have the front school doors open after school to allow access to middle school, high school, and pee-wee practices. We will lock these doors at 7:00 pm Monday-Thursday when seasons are in session. If there is a practice, open gym, or event at any other time, the front doors will still need to be used, and the parking lane will need to remain clear as well. Please, only park in the designated parking lot in front of the school.

NOTICE OF BOARD OF EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Three Centennial School District R-1 Board of Education members will attend the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) conference in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor Resort and Conference Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 5-7, 2024. The Board members and Superintendent will meet between sessions on Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7 to discuss District matters in relation to their learning. No action will be taken. See the attached announcement for details.

We are so excited to have you join us for our special tradition of enjoying a Thanksgiving meal together. This is a special opportunity to come to eat with your child, get to know their classmates and develop a relationship with their teacher.
As a reminder, this meal is part of a full, regular school day. Your child will enjoy lunch with you and return to their classes to finish their day. We have lots of important materials, skills, and learning to develop across the year, and this is still a day focused on learning. Please do not check out your child so they miss out on the rest of their valuable school day.

High school entrepreneurial class took part in a 3-day simulation of a mock negotiations. There were two parties, the BOE/Centennial staff and the student body. They negotiated terms and issues such as behavior, cell phones, and dress code. They have settled on dress code and cell phones, but the behavior issue is a hot and heated topic that they cannot come to compromise on.
The class was very invested on the roles and topics as a debate arose. The characters they developed as they took part in this exercise were very realistic and was a pleasure to see and experience. Great job high schoolers!
