Good evening! The vaccine bus will be in the Centennial Parking lot tomorrow, August 25, from 3-7pm. This may be the last time for awhile the bus makes it here. Come and get vaccinated if you are not already. Use the attached QR code to register. Vaccinations are also available regularly from Costilla County Public Health.

Good evening Centennial families, We learned today there was a positive COVID case on the Centennial campus yesterday in the High School. We have worked with Public Health to determine anyone who was potentially exposed and sent them home for quarantining. Public Health will follow up with these families. We want to thank our students and staff for doing their best to always wear a mask and maintain 3 foot social distancing. Because of this, it is a small potential exposure group. Keep up the good work to keep our school and community safe.

The Vaccine Bus will be at Centennial this Wednesday, August 18 from 9-12. People who get vaccinated can get a $100 gift card. Students aged 12-17 can get an additional $50 gift card from the Land Rights Council if vaccinated. Let's do our part to slow this virus.

Reminder: Please pass this information on to your high school student athlete. Today is the first official practice for fall sports. If your child is interested in participating, they should have filled out this google form https://forms.gle/NvKLysZF51x6Chhe7 . Athletes should have a current physical on file in order to participate in practice. If you plan on playing football, please attend practice at Sierra Grande today at 4:15 to receive necessary information and documents and to sign up for season. If your child plans on participating in volleyball, practice will begin at 4:30 at Centennial and will follow with a parent meeting at 6:30 p.m. If you have questions or are needing information, do not hesitate to email me at rserna@centennialschool.net. Good afternoon Centennial high school families. The first official practice for fall sports begins tomorrow, Monday, August 9th. Volleyball practice will begin at 4:30 p.m. Please enter through the East side main gym entrance where each athlete will be Covid screened. Please wear a mask. Football practice will begin at 4:15 at Sierra Grande school. Please email me at rserna@centennialschool.net if you need transportation. A sport physical is required for practice. It is valid for 365 days from date completed. I need all athletes to fill out the google form that I sent out if you have not done so yet. This is mandatory. Call for Nominations for Centennial R-1 School Directors: The biennial election for Centennial School Board Members is Tuesday, November 2, 2021. There are three (3) Director seats available for nominations: District 2 (North San Luis), District 3 (West), District 4 (Chama). See attached for qualifications and petition process. All paperwork can be picked up at the Centennial School District office and must be returned no later than 4:00 pm, Friday, August 27, 2021. Contact Crystal Quintana for more information.

Good morning Centennial families. If your high school student is interested in playing football, there will be a Panther Football Camp on August 3,4,5 from 4:30-6 in front of Sierra Grande school. Bring a water bottle and cleats. The first day of official practice is August 9th at 4:15.

This will be your opportunity to review transcripts and plan a schedule that will help you meet your goals by graduation. However, there are also online forms that need to be completed as part of registration. You can fill these forms out now. Just login to your Alma account, click on your profile picture and select Alma Start. Once you select the student you will be registering, just follow the directions to complete all the necessary forms and update any information changes for the 2021-22 school year. We will have computers and paper forms available as needed here on campus if you would like to complete the online registration here on Tuesday. Otherwise, you can complete these forms from the comfort of your home. Thank you for your support as we get ready for the exciting year ahead.

Good evening Centennial Families! Tomorrow is registration for elementary and middle school students from noon to 7:00pm. However, registration is online for all returning students. Just login to your Alma account, click on your profile picture and select Alma Start. Once you select your student you will be registering, you just follow the directions to complete all the necessary forms and update any information changes for the 2021-22 school year. We will have computers and paper forms available as needed here on campus if you would like to complete the online registration here. Otherwise, you can register your child from the comfort of your home. Only students entering 5-8 grades need to come to campus if they want to choose their elective. Good morning Centennial Families! Thank you for completing our survey about mask requirements when we return to school. Yesterday morning, the Board of Education met to discuss our safety plan and maks requirements. In accordance with the new guidance from the CDC and in partnership with Public Health, all students, staff, and visitors will be required to wear a mask while on campus or buses. We will continue with 3 foot social distancing, modified health screenings, hallways cohorting, and regular disinfecting of high-touch areas. Some parts of our day will return to normal such as reopening drinking fountains and the salad bar at lunch. We strive to prioritize the health and safety of students, staff, families and community. We are excited to provide a full return to in-person learning and to continue being your community school of excellence.

Hello Centennial Families. There will be no open gym for volleyball tonight. Boys High School Basketball open gym is still being held tonight. MS Girls and High school girls volleyball will have open gym on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Reminder: Sports physicals will be held at Centennial School from 4:00-6:00.pm. If your child is interested in playing sports this year, they will need a current sports physical. Cost is $25. Your child will need to fill out their sport interest survey that was sent out on Monday as well. Please enter through the east side main gym entrance. See you then!
