We will provide more updates about remote learning for our students in the coming days.
Dear Centennial Families, Students, and Community,
Due to rising concerns about slowing the spread of the Coronavirus across our state, Centennial School District R-1 will shift to remote learning for all PK-12 grade students and students in our Early Learning Center following spring break until April 16, 2020. This decision is based on on-going conversations with health professionals in the Valley, San Luis and Costilla County health officials, and San Luis Valley Superintendents. All in-person classes are cancelled until the situation is re-evaluated in April or there is additional guidance from the State or federal governments.
We will be working as a staff to prepare instructional materials for your children and will have them available to all Centennial families on Wednesday, March 25. We will provide parents with a material pick-up schedule to ensure we are practicing appropriate social distancing. We will also provide families with information about student meal pick-up options in the upcoming days. We hope to not have students miss a single meal that would be served during a regular school schedule.
Ultimately, the health and well-being of our community, students, and families is at the core of this decision, and we will do all we can to keep you informed. Please, use this time to enjoy the wonders of your child’s learning and growth. Explore ideas, books, music, and play- together.
Thank you for your continued support in protecting our most vulnerable populations.
