The Board of Education held its Regular Board Meeting for March on Wednesday, March 25. There were several items for discussion and action.
During the Board discussion item section, the Board recognized Crystal Quintana's family engagement work. They look forward to many great events that are planned. The Board congratulated all on the great work happening across our building and is proud of the accomplishments of our athletes and staff. The discussion section fostered lively discussion, policy review of section I: Instruction, facility use for non-school events, cell phones in the classroom, the evaluation of the dual administrative roles of the Superintendent, and the breakdown of responsibilities between the K-8 and HS principals. The administrative team shared a curriculum and Instruction report, a 3rd-quarter attendance report, and discussed the costs/benefits of the superintendent's house rental.
The Board took action on the following items:
Approved the SY 2024-25 audit report as presented by Mr. Hall.
Approved the addition of an AirMed insurance benefit for all full-time staff beginning in SY2026-27.
Tabled the approval of the Principal K-8 contract extension until June.
Approved the changes to the student handbook to include specific hate speech language outlined in District policy.
Approved the DOLA MOU language and grant proposal.
Approved the resignation of Austin Hubbard as HS track coach.
Approved the hire of Kessa Rabe as a substitute teacher and Taylor Hubbard as the HS track coach.
The next regular Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29. There will be a work session at 5:30, followed by the regular meeting at 6:30.
